Upsize Huh

I’m not sure whether the big M or big W or any of the clones does it anymore. It was called upsizing. They’d ask you if you want extras. So helpful you thought. Then ching ching ching. Before you knew it that little burger cost you double or triple. So easy.

Thus was born the upsizing generation, quite a world apart from the generations before, people who had learned to live frugally through drought, depression and world wars.

What began as a novel way  to increase profit became everyman’s norm.  If you were a seller it became the preferred way of doing business.   If you were a buyer it meant upsizing all the things you loved and bought.  Brand-name clothing, furnishings, appliances, cars, houses, and anything else you could put a price on. Through up-sizing civilization bought us  into massive debt and inflation.

The story doesn’t end here, however if you believe that old saying, “what goes up must come down”. – Written by M.S. Olscamp, Dunlop, New Brunswick, Canada
