There’s an expression that has been around for the last twenty or so years (that I know of), an expression I have never used and never intend to use in normal human conversation. It’s ‘take care’. I wouldn’t use it because it’s meaning puzzles me. Is it advice to someone whose intelligence you question? Is it a warning that maybe something dreadful is about to happen? Is it something else? I have no idea. I do, however wonder about its origin. And I don’t consider it completely useless. I imagine it would be useful advice given to anyone in charge of artworks which have been placed in the hands of gallery or museum directors.
It can be a dreadful loss to an artist or a community to have their work lost or damaged or stolen or even destroyed.
Also, I guess you really have to ‘take care’ about what you buy online, according to a recent article I read about artifacts stolen from the British Museum being offered for sale on e-Bay.
Maggie here … waiting … waiting … who wants to speak first? Maggie is listening.
